Hello,

I have been involved in music since a very early age.  I started out in the first grade playing a ukelele for a talent contest while standing on a chair so I could reach the microphone.  I was crushed when I only took 2nd place.

I progressed to a trumpet by the fourth grade.  By the 7th grade my dad & I built my first guitar.  (I wish I still had it!) Dad had been playing guitar for years.  So from the 7th grade until I graduated high school I played both the trumpet & the guitar.  I played the trumpet in the high school concert & marching band. The guitar I played in rock bands playing wherever we could which when you are in junior high school is places like sock hops & skating rinks.  By college I was playing in bars for some almost serious money.  After college we were practicing 3 days a week & trying to play as many weekends as we could.

As time went on recording these bands became fun as well.  Nowdays I lose count of just how many guitars I have.  It is certainly more than I NEED but not nearly as many as I want!

This web site stems from the love of music and especially for the guitar.  I kept recording with ever improving quality.  These recording rigs went from really low budget mono reel to reel recorders up to multi-track reel to reel recorders.  Eventually we got into an Alesis ADAT recorder for our first home recorded CD.  Now we have moved on yet again to a fully digital recording system with a PC and an outboard A/D converter system.

While I look back with fondness on these past systems, I don’t really miss them all that much.  They were easier to master, certainly, but they always had unwanted noises & limitations (such as no “undo”!) that we depend on today.
